How to find us

Coming from Cologne or Düsseldorf:

  • At the motorway junction Autobahnkreuz Aachen, follow the signs towards Heerlen (Autobahn A4).
  • Leave the A4 at Exit 2, Aachen-Laurensberg, and turn right at the traffic lights onto the expressway L232 in the direction Aachen-Zentrum/Uniklinik.
  • Take the first exit and continue along the expressway L260 in the direction Klinikum / RWTH Melaten / Gewerbegebiet Süsterfeld.
  • Leave the expressway at the first exit – signposted RWTH Zentrum / Gewerbegebiet Süsterfeld – and then turn left.
  • At the roundabout, take the second exit (Kackertstraße).
  • The IOT is a just few metres down Kackertstraße on your right, directly after the Ford Research Centre (Ford-Forschungszentrum).

Coming from Cologne or Düsseldorf:

  • At the motorway junction Autobahnkreuz Aachen, follow the signs towards Heerlen (Autobahn A4).
  • Leave the A4 at Exit 2, Aachen-Laurensberg, and turn right at the traffic lights onto the expressway L232 in the direction Aachen-Zentrum/Uniklinik.
  • Take the first exit and continue along the expressway L260 in the direction Klinikum / RWTH Melaten / Gewerbegebiet Süsterfeld.
  • Leave the expressway at the second exit – after approx. 1.8 kilometres – signposted RWTH Melaten / Hörn. Caution! This exit begins inside a tunnel.
  • After the exit, turn sharp right immediately into Seffenter Weg (in the direction Fraunhofer Institutes).
  • The Centre for Metallic Design (zmb) is directly on your right.
