Brazing for sustainable maintenance of turbine blades
By reconditioning worn or damaged turbine blades through brazing, a sustainable use of the material is ensured. The brazing alloy is applied as a paste to the surface of the component and melted in the furnace under a vacuum atmosphere. The liquid brazing alloy wets the surface and fills the damaged areas with new material. Subsequent grinding restores the original geometry and surface quality of the turbine blade so that it can be used again.
