Corrosion protection coating on the monopile of a wind power station
The service life of the towers of offshore wind turbines can be significantly increased by ZnAl15 coatings in combination with organic coatings.
In contrast to other zinc coatings, the rapid solidification of ZnAl15 coatings during thermal spraying results in the formation of β-phases, which favour the formation of LDH (Layered Double Hydroxide) and thus improve corrosion resistance in salty atmospheres.
