FlashlineTM 4010

Facility and thermal conductivity plotted against temperature Copyright: © IOT Laserflash-system FLASHLINE™ 4010 (a) and thermal conductivity of several brazes (b)

The Flashline-System 4010 measures the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of widely differing materials such as glass, metal, ceramics, polymers, thin films, diamonds and a variety of composites. Furthermore it is possible to determine the thermo physical properties of thin coatings. The Flash Method is based on measuring the characteristics temperature rise of the rear surface of the sample, when the front is irradiated with a high energy pulse from a laser. The multiple sample testing option allows a rapid reliable measurement. The Flashline System is supplied with an extensive operating and data analysis software. The small sample size makes this method very attractive for many applications.
